Sixteen years of Hindustani theatre

Abhimanch was founded in 2010 by Akash Tyagi and Nikhil Malhotra, to stage the great Hindustani writers with honesty and care. Sixteen years on, it is a 40-strong company of actors, musicians and makers.

Every production has been a ticketed public show, sold on BookMyShow, and the company has played across Delhi-NCR, Bangalore and Mumbai.

Its repertoire runs from Premchand, Manto and Bhisham Sahni to Swadesh Deepak's Court Martial and a Hindi adaptation of Dario Fo. Today its stories are told with the Manganiyar musicians of Rajasthan, led by Coke Studio Bharat singer Bismillah Khan, often with the audience as part of the performance.
